Additional Bench Dog 10-010 Crown-Cut Crown Molding Cutting Jig Information

Cutting crown molding doesn't have to be confusing and frustrating. CROWN-CUT is the safest and easiest way to cut crown molding, and you will cut perfect miters every time. What's the secret? CROWN-CUT holds the molding at the crown's intended angle, and locks it in place while you cut it. Before CROWN-CUT the common way to cut molding was to lay it flat and use a compound cut. Not only was this difficult, computing the two angles was nearly impossible. In contrast, CROWN-CUT requires only simple 45 degree miter cuts that any miter saw can handle. CROWN-CUT fits crown and cove molding up to 6 inches wide and fits all 10 and larger miter saws. CROWN-CUT is completely portable and requires no attachment to your miter saw. Made in the USA.

What Customers Say About Bench Dog 10-010 Crown-Cut Crown Molding Cutting Jig:

Once set for the crown size you're working with, the cuts are quick and accurate because you're working with standard right/left miter cuts and not bevel cuts. I tried a few crown molding jigs before buying this one, and this is the best I've used so far.

The Bench Dog crown moulding jig answerers all the questions simply with out any of the confusion associated with cutting the moulding. I drilled two hole in the vertical part of the jig that matched the existing hole on the fence of my chop saw. This is probably the best item I could have purchased for our crown moulding project. I will say that I got an idea from someone else who purchased the same jig, it is a good idea to physically attach the jig to your chop saw. I use carriage bolts with wing nuts, the wing nuts makes it easier to move the jig from left or right easier side depending on the cut you want. My wife and I are actually building out own home with our own two hands. I was apprehensive about installing the crown molding with all the tricks you need to master to get a good looking job.

i've done two rooms at my folks house with this and now that i'm on break from med school, i'll probably be enlisted to do more. its adjustable for different types of crown. this is what you need combined with a miter saw to get great results doing crown molding. it has the instructions on it, so in case you have a temporary brain lapse, you know what to do.

I'll blame it on the miter saw. Crown molding is confusing, this set up helped though my angles still didn't meet up.but I was so close.

You'll save $40 and can then take your significant other out for dinner. As another reviewer suggested, attach this jig to the saw so it doesn't move. But if you are just cutting just one or two different sizes of molding, I suggest that you make a box out of some scrap plywood. It shouldn't take much more than 10-15 minutes if you have a table saw. Boy, is this thing expensive. I used heavy duty double-stick tape with great results. It makes cutting crown molding easier. A friend gave me his after he completed his remodeling project and I find that it is a nice jig. I can image that it would really help a novice. The real advantage to this jig is the ability to re-set it for different molding.
